Sans titre - 5 tapis

manufactured carpets, colures wool.
Working in Egypt, what an idea for a girl ! that was almost impossible. everything assaulted me. I needed to create my own calm space. the only time of tranquility was during the prier, at the very moment people unfolded their preying carpet. wondering around downtown, I saw some looms, clue that handcraft is still alive in Egypt. So I seized the opportunity. I hardly wanted to possess this part of egyptian culture, so I designed some carpets to bring them back. each pattern is a symbol or the sketch of an event, people story, or cultural point. I let my sensibility express itself in those choices.
The 5 carpets are made to be stacked, as stories thickness. each is named : Maelström, Al Bassit, Caution, Thaoura, Talata.
